Traditional Polish Easter Egg Decorating Workshop

A week before Easter, Gorey.pl – Polish Cultural Association organized the Workshops of Making Polish Traditional Easter Eggs – PISANKI, in the Gorey Library. During a workshop, we were talked about Easter Traditions in Poland. Local artist, Andrzej Bojanowski talked about and showed how to make Easter eggs using different technics. Andrzej was happy to share his passion with others. Andrzej presented very unique technique like openwork carved Easter egg, drapanka (scratched dyed egg) and some decoupage techniques to make an Easter eggs. We prepared over 200 dyed eggs and eggs shells for workshop participants. Many beautiful Pisanki were made on a day, including drapanki, pisanki made using beeswax, decoupage, etc. Our guests where amazed with Andrzej’s private collection he presented at the workshop. The class took place in a nice Easter atmosphere, all guests were very curious about Polish traditions and how Pisanke were made. We are happy that we could share Polish Easter customs among the local community. Special thanks to Andrzej Bojanowski.
