Workshop for parents and guardians.
Polish School in Gorey invites you to take part in a ‘Bilingualism everyday’ workshop, which will take place on 22nd of May 2018, at 6.30pm in the school building of, Gorey Community School – Esmonde street, Mill Lands Gorey. The workshop has been organised in co-operation with with Mother Tongues organisation and Gorey.PL – Polish Cultural Association. The workshop will be led by Agnieszka Pędrak.
As part of the commenced ‘PolskaÈire’ festiwal, alongside the workshop, there will be the opportunity to see an exhibition about Polish culture, tradition and history.
The talk is held in Polish and it may be of interest to parents and carers of
bilingual children of Polish descent.
Issues discussed:
• child bilingualism & bi-culturalism,
• speech and language development in bilingual children,
• code-switching,
• literacy skills,
• identity construction in bilingual children,
• bilingual upbringing strategies,
• most common challenges of bilingual families of Polish descent,
• practical advice on supporting children bilingualism and fostering the use of
Polish language every day.
Mother Tongues provides training and consultancy aimed at families and at
professionals working with multilingual children and adults. To find out more about

The exhibition revealing the charms of the Puck Land. Its cultural and turists values and nature are still ‘the mysterious island’ over the waters of the Bay of Puck. The beauty of the landscape, monuments, a long strip of the coast make up a very attractive image of the region. The exhibition ‘My Kashubia’ shows us the mood of historical reflection on the richness of the Kashubian culture, open our eyes to the beauty hidden in this land and its people. Discover Kashubian village by the sea, welcome to the Gmina (administrative district) Puck. Exhibition in Gorey is possible thanks to the cooperation with the Culture Sports and Tourism in Gmina Puck.
